I am now officially unemployed AND homeless. Yesterday a crew of the elderly and infirm helped me move all my possessions to a friend's house and tomorrow I take off to the Shakespearean Festival with my parents. We leave Cedar City on Thursday, I head to New York on Friday, fly to Europe on Saturday, and arrive in Rome (after a 10-hour layover in Germany) on Sunday. I've arranged an airport transfer in Rome from the airport to my hotel, because several of my friends have recently seen the movie Taken and assure me that I will be kidnapped if I try to reach my first hotel by myself at night. Kidnapping seems like a poor start to the Trip of Awesomeness.

I do have to agree with your other friends. Italy is dangerous and I am very glad you have taken precautions to be safe. The Trip of Awesomeness should not start that way! Have fun with William and your parents. Man, I am excited to live vicariously through you and your travels seeing we are not going to make England this summer. Just didn't feel right. Also, I do love that picture of you(my mom also thought it was cute!). So excited that you have finally shown yourself on the internet.
Later, A
Say hello to Austria for me! I recommend the milk chocolate Milka bars with whole hazelnuts. Get the giant one, break off pieces, and dip them in a container of Bavarian yogurt (vanilla). Think pudding, because there is no yogurt like that here.
Also, eat a semmel (roll), just for fun.
Have an Awesome time!
Watch out for the gypsies in Rome--and the rest of Europe, too. Enjoy your months of unemployment :) Sounds lovely to me!
Who's William? (And also have a good trip and don't get kidnapped, but if you do, I will use my secret ninja skills to save you.)
Alice--Sorry you're not going to make it to England this summer. I'll eat a pasty in your honor.
CSIowa--Chocolate and hazelnuts are always a good idea. I'll keep an eye out for Milka bars.
Lady Susan--Thanks!
Moo--I recently read a book about gypsies. It was really interesting, although I found the folk tales that justified begging somewhat troubling.
E--William is obviously my secret boyfriend. Or possibly she was referring to Mr. Shakespeare. And I appreciate you offering up your skills on my behalf. I'll put you on speed dial.
The reference was to William Shakespeare! Although, if you find a nice chap named William, you should bring him back! :)
You will be fine. Everyone who tries to kidnap you will see your Awesome Powers (as we call them in our house) and be scared away. You are going to have so much fun!
